Mojiko Station
As a component cultural property of the Japan Heritage site “Kanmon ‘Nostalgic’ Strait,” the Neo-Renaissance-style station building, brimming with the romance of the Taisho era, preserves the atmosphere of that time to this day. You can also enjoy the spectacular views of the Kanmon Strait—which separates Honshu and Kyushu—while feeling the sea breeze on a Kanmon Strait cruise.
Shunpanro
This historic venue, where the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed, is also a long-established restaurant that holds the distinction of being the first officially licensed establishment to serve fugu cuisine. In its elegant setting, you can reflect on the history and traditions of Shimonoseki while savoring the taste of “fuku.”
Shokindo Japanese Sweets Making Workshop
At this long-established shop, founded in the second year of the Keio era, you can try your hand at making traditional Japanese sweets using techniques passed down directly from master artisans. You’ll enjoy a fun hands-on experience with these traditional skills—creating sweets that are beautiful to look at and delicious to eat, while experiencing the changing seasons.
Hinoyama Park(Fire Mountain Park)
A scenic spot offering panoramic views of the Kanmon Strait and the Seto Inland Sea from the mountaintop. Opened in April 2026, the “Hino-yama Ring” has become a new landmark in Shimonoseki City and a place of relaxation for its residents.
