Facilities, Experiences (Examples)
①Matsue Castle
Matsue Castle is one of the only 12 remaining original castle keeps (Tenshukaku) in Japan.
These existing keeps were built during the Edo period or earlier and are unique in that they have survived in their original form to this day.
Completed in Keichō 16 (1611), the keep of Matsue Castle stands alongside Hikone Castle and Himeji Castle as a prime example of castles from the height of Japan’s early modern period. It has been designated a National Treasure for its historical and architectural significance.

7. Pets must be kept in a pet carrier. Assistance dogs are allowed without restriction.
8. Please refrain from shouting, running, or engaging in any behavior that may disturb other visitors.

②Izumo-Taisya Hiranoya Enmusubi chopsticks shopping
Enmusubi Chopsticks Hirano-ya Izumo Taisha Store is located along ‘Shinmon-dori’, the main approach to Izumo Taisha.
The shop offers over 100 varieties of exclusive souvenirs, with the signature “Enmusubi Chopsticks of Izumo.”
At this location, you can even have your name engraved on a pair of chopsticks, a process that takes about 3 minutes (excluding busy times).
These personalized chopsticks make not only a meaningful memento of your visit to Izumo Taisha, but also a thoughtful gift for family and friends.
As a souvenir only available at Hirano-ya Izumo Taisha Store, it’s a keepsake that’s both practical and long-lasting.

③Souvenir Market SHAMINE Matsue” inside Matsue Station or “Souvenir Market Izumo” inside Izumo City Station
Located just before the ticket gates, it offers convenient shopping for travelers before boarding the train.
The shop features snacks and food made with ingredients from Shimane Prefecture, as well as railway-related goods and other local specialty souvenirs that showcase the charm of the area.
